Junior Lauren Soobrian of Los Altos High won the girls 5-kilometer championship race at the inaugural Nike Cross Regionals California at Woodward Park in Fresno. Soobrian, who was 11th at the Division 1 state meet Nov. 27, ran a personal-best 17:40.6 to lower her fourth-place time of 17:42.7 from the 2019 Division 1 state final.
