Los Altos captured its first Division 2 girls title with an 80-93 victory against Newbury Park at the CIF State Cross Country Championships at Woodward Park in Fresno. Sophomore Emily Soobrian placed 10th by covering the 5-kilometer layout in 18:03.9, senior Lauren Soobrian finished 13th in 18:16.1, freshman Lydia Anderson secured 20th in 18:27.9 and junior Jasleen Sidhu earned 21st in 18:32.6, senior Fiona Bodkin took 33rd in 18:55.6, freshman Emma Beedon earned 47th in 19:14.5 and junior Madeline Randall achieved 97th in 19:53.4 for the Eagles, who also qualified to compete Dec. 3 at Nike Cross Nationals at Glendoveer Golf Course in Oregon.
